WHO WE ARE
Sahodaran means "brotherhood". As the first Community Based Organization in Chennai, India run by and for the MSM community, Sahodaran provides health services, care services, and social support to empower the MSM/transgender (TG) community here in Chennai and advocate for the rights of sexual minorities nationwide.
Sunil Menon is the founding director of Sahodaran. His work is mostly behind the scenes as he negotiates with higher authorities in the government for funding, and makes all of the executive decisions. His advocacy for the MSM population in Chennai has revolutionized the lives of thousands of young men.
As the general manager of Sahodaran, Jaya personally oversees all of the projects. She assists in crisis intervention, and mans the hotline. However, she also works with Chennai’s community leaders to promote awareness for MSM. Sahodaran is her life, and family.
GET INVOLVED
Sahodaran offers many oppurtunities to become involved with our organization as well as Chennai's LGBT community. These oppurtunities include volunteer oppurtunities, internships, fundraising, and cultural events.
